We Love Free Patterns: Small Crochet Bags
Many of us are put off by the idea of crocheting afghans and other large, heavy projects in the summer months. When the thermometer spikes and you can’t bear the thought of another blanket, try these small bags on for size, perfect for gifts, wedding favors, and more.
1. Simple crochet sachet by Agrarian Artisan
These adorable little crochet sachets are perfect for sock drawers, handing out candy at a party, and more. They can of course be personalized, using the perfect shade and ribbon. You’ll need small quantities of DK weight yarn: we love Drops Muskat, a 100% mercerized Egyptian cotton yarn with a gorgeous, subtle sheen. check out Light Purple (05), and Mint Green (03), as seen here.
2. Japanese knot bag by Julie Blagojevich
Who doesn’t need a crochet bag for their crochet projects? You can or course make this bag with any size yarn and an appropriately sized hook, but this bag pictured was made with an aran, worsted weight yarn and a size D (3.25 mm) hook. We like Lion Brand Amazing, a versatile blend of wool and acrylic that can stand up to some abuse. These colorways are stunning; take a look at Regatta (213) and Mauna Loa (212), as seen here.
3. Holiday coin purse by Keep Calm and Crochet On
This sweet little coin purse is so simple, even a beginner could easily make one. It features a wooden toggle closure and small amounts of aran, worsted weight yarn, like James C Brett Aztec Aran in Grey (10) or Lavender (05).
4. Gift bag by Little Doolally
Hearts aren’t just for Valentine’s Day – this little bag would be adorable for a wedding favor or gift! It’s simple enough for beginner crocheters, and uses Drops Cotton Light, a DK weight cotton blend yarn, in Red (32) and Ice Blue (08), as seen here.
5. Flower coin purse by Da’s Crochet Connection
Written in US crochet terms and using amounts of Stylecraft Classique Cotton DK, this adorable pattern is absolutely adorable.
