We love: FREE crochet patterns for Christmas in July
We’re celebrating with these fabulous (and FREE!) crochet patterns for Christmas in July. Get started on those big holiday projects now and save yourself the panic in December when you realize you won’t finish before the big day.
We love this plaid scarf, created with double crochet stitches and known as ”buffalo check” or ”buffalo plaid.” It’s a super simple pattern that even beginners can make, and you can use colors to match their sports team, family tartan, or school colors. This scarf features King Cole Merino Blend DK, a 100% pure new wool yarn with a high twist for a smooth finish. The scarf pictured uses Copper (109) and Bottle (033); we also love Petrol (926) and Oatmeal (041). Click on the image below to view all available shades!
This colorful afghan could make a perfect gift for a loved one. The classic design has a contemporary twist with the stripes of color that run between the squares. It features any worsted weight yarn, but we absolutely love Drops Nepal. It’s a blend of wool and alpaca that’s smooth and snuggly, perfect for a blanket. Check out these shades, perfect for a frosty winter blanket: Grey Green (7139), Light Grey Green (7120), Medium Blue (6220), and Denim Blue (6314).
This gorgeous cardigan uses a selection of stunning textured stitches to crate a contemporary fashion favorite. The front and back panels are worked seam to seam, from left to right. The sleeves are worked from cuff to cap. The pattern is written and charted, and features Berroco vintage DK in Paprika (02157); don’t miss Chana Dal (02192), Fennel (01275), or Douglas Fir (01277), as seen here.
Check out those crochet cables! We’ve been experimenting with crochet cables recently, and so it’s great to see an afghan pattern that takes advantage of this unique technique. This gorgeous afghan will be a well-loved Christmas present this year, so you’d better get started now! It features Lion Brand Wool Ease in Fisherman (099); we also love Avocado (174), Mushroom (403), and Natural Heather (098).
This classic shawl only uses v stitches and chains! It’s crocheted from the bottom up and sideways, which creates a semi-circle, asymmetrical shape. This shawl uses 800 yards of a DK weight yarn: check out Rowan Alpaca Colour, a 100% alpaca yarn in stunning colors to wow any gift-receiver. We love Emerald (136), Jasper (134), Agate (137), and Jade (146), as seen here.
