We love crochet for babies!

We’re having a baby themed week at LC HQ this week, and it’s been delicious, looking through some of the sweetest baby patterns on the site!  Here are five of our absolute favourites!

1. Crochet A-line Coat & Bonnet by Sirdar

Just look at the gorgeous lace shell detail on the collar, cuffs and bonnet!  We loved this sweet little coat and bonnet, just the thing for this changeable weather! Crocheted here in Sirdar Snuggly 4ply, this pattern includes sizes from 0-6 months right up to 6-7 yrs.

2.  Copilot Aviator Hat by Kat Goldin

Honestly, how could you resist?  One of the most fabulous crochet baby hats we’ve EVER seen! Clever Kat Goldin’s design for a Copilot Aviator Hat should be compulsory for all babies! Crocheted here in Cascade 220, but you can use any soft aran weight yarn. Sized in inches for head circumferences: 12, 14.5,  17, 19 and 22.

3. Sylvie Striped Baby Dress by Joanne Scrace

Joanne Scrace’s darling stripey dress is cosy and comfy for babies from three months to three years (chest circumference in cm: 48, 53, 56, 59, 61), crocheted in King Cole Merino Blend DK or your favourite soft DK brand.

4. Sew Simple Baby Socks by knot.sew.cute Design Shop

Ohhhhhh double triple cute!  Crocheted socks don’t get much airplay, but we love these teeny tiny baby socks from knot.sew.cute Design Shop! In three sizes, 0-3, 3-6 and 6-9 months, these Sew Simple Baby Socks are crocheted in 4ply yarn, and we think Milla Mia Naturally Soft Merino would be the perfect yarn to use!

5. Sweet Little Rounded Mittens by April Garwood

HOW sweet are these?  Beautifully round to give baby’s fingers lots of wriggle room, these have a long enough wrist cuff to ensure that they don’t fall off too! The button detail is preposterously divine! Make these in a beautifully soft DK yarn, like Rico Baby So Soft Print DK, for some fun colour detail and washability too!
