Thank you for the snowflakes…
You made over 2,500 snowflakes for the Home-Start Snowflake Appeal! Donate now to help us keep Home-Start families warm for the rest of the year!
Wow. We were thrilled with your wonderful crafting – thank you so much for the thousands of snowflakes you sent us from all over the world to support the Home-Start Snowflake Appeal! They festooned the entrance to the Handmade Fair in Manchester in November, and we were so proud of our fabulous community of LoveCrochet makers!
After the fair, the snowflakes were sent out to Home-Start teams all over the UK to distribute to families in need, to remind them that they are cared for and once the donations are counted, when the appeal closes on January 31st, families will begin to benefit from your kindness in lots of essential, practical ways.

Reach the family, reach the child
Home-Start looks after families in need. When families struggle, children suffer – and Home-Start Volunteers offer practical, every day help. It may be as simple as chatting over a cup of tea, or a trip to take children to the park, helping to manage household bills or helping with the washing. For so many reasons – isolation, poverty, recovering from illness or domestic abuse, managing challenging family circumstances – parents need help to keep their families afloat. Home-Start Volunteers are parents themselves, so they understand how difficult family life can be, and their help is offered to all families, no matter their circumstance. You can read more about Home-Start’s fantastic work here.
To train Home-Start Volunteers and provide help to as many families as possible, the Home-Start charity needs more funds. Over 70,000 children were helped last year, but there were still families turned away because there wasn’t the money to train and manage new volunteers.
Please help us raise some extra money before the end of the appeal! January is very bleak for families in need, so please dig deep and donate before the appeal ends on the 31st!
You can donate here, and on our Just Giving page – every little helps to support a vulnerable child!
