Peter Pan Collar Free Crochet Tutorial

Kath Webber’s detachable collar is the perfect accessory for your autumn wardrobe!

You will need:1

– MillaMia Naturally Soft Cotton, (100% cotton, 50g/165m) in Bright Green (330)

– 4mm Hook

– 1 x button – rummage into your vintage stash to find the perfect match!

How to make:

98ch to begin

Row 1: (RS) 1htr into 3rd ch from hook, 1htr into each ch across. Turn. [96 sts]

Row 2: (WS) 2ch (does not count as 1htr throughout), (1htr into each of next 7 sts, 2htr into next st) 11 times, 1htr into rem 7 sts. Turn. [106 sts]

TOP TIP: At this point it’s a good idea to count your stitches to make sure the increases will continue evenly on the next few rows.

Row 3: 2ch, (1htr into each of next 8 sts, 2htr into next st) 11 times, 1htr into each of rem 7 sts. Turn. [117 sts]

Row 4: 2ch, (1htr into each of next 9 sts, 2htr into next st) 11 times, 1htr into each of rem 7 sts. Turn. [128sts]

Row 5: 2ch, (1htr into each of next 10 sts, 2htr into next st) 11 times, 1htr into each of rem 7 sts. Turn. [139sts]

Row 6: 2ch, (1htr into each of next 11 sts, 2htr into next st) 11 times, 1htr into each of rem 7 sts. Fasten off. [150 sts]

Edging:

Rejoin yarn with RS facing into inner top left corner. 7dc evenly across to opposite corner, rotate work, 3dc into next st, 1dc into each of next 148 sts across to next corner st, 3dc into next st, 7dc evenly across to opposite corner, 6ch for button loop, ss to collar. Fasten off and weave in ends, then stitch the button onto the opposite side of the collar.
