Mystical Creatures from the Community!
We love the current trend for mystical crochet! Unicorns, dragons and trolls are such fun to make and perfect gifts too! Merion has found some favourite projects – take a look!
Everybody loves a mermaid or a little dragon! There are times when crocheting something a little bit out of this world is very therapeutic indeed! Be inspired by our community, and their gorgeous mystical projects!
Trolls! If you’re as old as me, you’ll remember the first time Trolls were fashionable! If not, you might have seen the recent movie where these brightly coloured little friends sing up a storm but are delicious to the fictitious Bergens who spend the whole film trying to eat them. Delicious fun! Sinead C’s little blue troll is absolutely sweet, and is crocheted from an original 1970s pattern. We love this little chap! Follow Sinead C here!
Helen C has made this beautiful little unicorn for her daughter Evalyn! Isn’t it sweet! Unicorns are such beautiful, mystical creates, we are sure that Evalyn will have great fun playing with this one, and look at that gorgeous curly mane! Follow Helen C here!
We love Hooked by Kati’s gorgeous little dragonlings! These were Kati’s first creatures and she’s well and truly hooked now! Follow Hooked by Kati here!
We love Deborah Causey’s crocheted mermaid doll! Look at that gorgeous purple hair! This beauty is a gift for Deborah’s niece Kara, and she’s crocheted in Lily Sugar ‘n Cream Solids. Follow Deborah here!
If you want to try your hand at amigurumi, Rosalin A‘s little dragon is a great place to start! He’s got the characteristic ami shape, and those sweet little wings look great fun to make!
Trolls the movie, as I mentioned earlier in the post, is all about trolls who are so delicious that they spend their lives trying not to be eaten – and singing as they go! This is the star of the movie, Princess Poppy! Jenna looks after a little girl who loves Princess Poppy so she decided to make her a crocheted version by adapting a troll pattern and this is a fantastic likeness!
This dragon was a real labour of love for Miranda S! Made for her bestie, this dragon is based on a Chinese Dragon pattern and wired throughout so that she can pose. A lot of work has gone into this masterpiece – well done Miranda!
