Crochet as a Random Act of Kindness!
The greek storyteller Aesop once said “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted” and we wholeheartedly agree. February 14th is National Random Acts of Kindness Day – and here’s how you can take part!
Random Acts of Kindness Day is all about doing something for somebody else without any other reason than to be kind towards one another! You can do that in every part of your day-to-day life:
Buy someone a coffee or flowers, help a stranger out, send an encouraging message or bring cake to work – the possibilities of how to be randomly nice to others are endless, but since we’re all about being crafty, here are our ideas of how to participate:
Crochet for someone in need!
The nights and days can still be quite cold, so why not help someone keep warm? This could be a hat or a scarf, or maybe you know a person who could use some new mittens? You could also crochet a little toy or blanket. Giving something homemade and from the heart will go a long way!
Teach someone to crochet!
Do you know someone who has always wanted to do what you do and know what you know? Maybe now is the time to sit down and teach them some basics! You can choose a simple pattern or a tutorial and just give them some time of your day! We’re sure they will be very grateful!
Why not help out at a local crochet club or a retirement home that might need some extra hands? Maybe you could visit, bring some yarn and spend some time there, crocheting and crafting!
