Crochet Christmas Gift Tag Toppers – Free Tutorial Videos!

Dig into your stash and personalise your gifts this year with our fun gift tag toppers! Merion shows you how to bring a little bit of festive fun to your parcel wrapping…

Wrapping presents can be HARD WORK, especially if you’ve got lots to do, but I am determined to enjoy it this year! It’s great fun to personalise your wrapping, and making little tiny gift tag toppers is a fun way to do it – and a great way to use up your stash too! Put that Christmas music on, pour yourself a glass of wine or a make a cup of tea, and grab your hook!

I’ve used Paintbox Yarns Simply DK and a 3.75mm hook throughout.

Christmas Wreath

Celebrate Christmas with this super fast little Christmas Wreath complete with a sweet little bow! For extra decoration, try adding tiny pom poms or sequins!

The pattern:

Chain 10, slip stitch to join.

Ch3, and work 17 tr (US dc) into the circle and sl st to join to the top of the beginning ch3.

Ch 6 for a hanging loop, and sl st to join at the base of the ch6. Finish and sew in ends.

For the bow:

Ch6, and work 3 rows of dc back and forth, finish and sew in ends.

Use a piece of thread to gather the centre of the bow, and then stitch on to the top of the wreath.

Decorate with sequins or pom poms for a little bit more glitz!

Mini Poinsettia

A classic Christmas poinsettia flower is a perfect little addition to a gift tag! You can also make a few of these little blooms and hang them on the tree by up-sizing them by using bigger yarn and a larger hook!

Ch4, sl st to join

Ch2, htr, tr, dtr, tr, htr and sl st into the circle to form the first petal.

Htr, tr, dtr, tr, htr and sl st into the circle a further four times to create five petals in total, and fasten off.

Pom Pom on a Fork!

When you need a tiny pom pom, make one on a fork! You’ll still need to be brutal with the trimming, but it’s a handy way to make a tiny pom pom!
