Crochet Christmas: Braided Cowl

Need a super fast sparkly gift?  Make our super speedy shimmery braided cowl in a trice!

I’m a great fan of combining yarn, it can bring delicious textures and colour combinations!  Even a simple scarf can become exotic by crocheting two or more yarns together.  For this braided cowl, I thought I’d bring some shimmer into the blend especially for the festive season!

You will need:

Three balls of super chunky yarn – I used GGH Husky in Mediterranes Blaugrun (12), a fantastic value wool and acrylic blend that makes this a very affordable gift!

One ball of sparkly mohair 4ply – I used Debbie Bliss Party Angel in Aqua/Silver (12)

A 9mm crochet hook – I used a Knit Pro Symfonie Hook

Make three:

Holding both yarns together, ch 82, turn.

Work a tr (US dc) into the second chain from the hook, and tr (US dc) into every stitch to end, turn.

Ch 2, tr (US dc) to end and fasten off.

Lie the three strips of crochet alongside each other, and plait (braid) them together.  Sew the ends together to form a loop, and you’re finished!

I just would like to be able to print the patterns.

I had to write the pattern down so I could make it.
